Interpret Your Dreams

Dreams and Visions Do Not Replace the Word of God!

Are you a night dreamer? Have you ever wondered what your dreams and visions mean? Did you know dreams are from God? Let me let you in on a little secret… *whispering* - God likes to communicate in creative ways. You have a responsibility to understand what God is trying to communicate to you because most (not all) dreams contain messages.

God dreams: God dreams are usually very memorable. They stick with. They can be vivid in color or dark in color, and there’s usually a profound message in them.

Soulish Dreams: These are your desires, personal emotions, and real life experiences that come out in dream form. But don’t sleep on these dreams (pun intended). These dreams reveal areas of truth that God may want you to see about yourself.

Visions: Contain very little symbolism and requires little or no interpretation.

95% of your dreams will be about yourself. 5% will be about someone else.

If the Holy Spirit has given you the gift of prophecy, your dreams / visions may include information about the nations, about the body of Christ, future events, particular individuals, leaders and more – John 16:12-15

Reasons Why We Dream

“He (GOD) speaks in dreams, in visions of the night, when deep sleep falls on people as they lie in their beds. He whispers in their ears and terrifies them with warnings. He makes them turn from doing wrong; he keeps them from pride. He protects them from the grave, from crossing over the river of death”   Job 33:15-18

Listen, dreams & visions can contain warning messages, guidance, encouragement, confirmation, impartation (wisdom like King Solomon), even healing. It’s important for us to “Stay Woke” and not dismiss our dreams because the very thing you been asking and praying to God about may get answered through a parable in the night, aka dream. Dreams are usually symbolic, visions are more literal but can contain some symbolism. You will need to do some seeking, reading, and praying for understanding of that weird dream or vision you had, but in due time the revelation will be revealed and you’ll be glad you paid attention.

Interpreting My Dream / Dream Symbols

You might be asking, “Can I interpret my own dreams?” If so, how? Well I’m glad you asked.

  • First, always pray and ask the Holy Spirit to give you revelation on your dream.

  • Second, go to the bible / concordance to search out Symbols / Colors in your dream (car, house, shoes, teeth, blue etc.) biblegateway.com is a really good online resource.

  • Lastly, Christian Dream Books where the symbols are backed up with scripture. Below are two of my favorite go to dream books:

Understanding the Dreams you Dream – Ira Milligan: This book is a Dream Dictionary of symbols and their definitions backed up by scripture. It's a quick go to when looking for the meaning of a particular dream symbol. This book has good but limited information on dream interpretation.

Dream Language: The Prophetic Power of Dreams, Revelations, and the Spirit of Wisdom – James Goll This book will teach you how to Interpret your dreams and how to apply them.

Once you’ve prayed and asked the Lord for revelation and you still can’t grasp the meaning of your dream – be patient. If there is meaning, the Lord will reveal it in His time or the dream will unfold over time – meaning, it has not taken place yet… It’s prophetic. Check out a prophetic dream I had. "A Prophetic Dream."

This was just a brief over view of interpreting dreams. There is so much more to understanding your dreams. I will be posting more on this subject but I hope this information was helpful.

Blessings,

Tytenisha
